At Kingdom Firewood we strongly believe in shopping locally and supporting other small businesses in Fife. As well as helping to boost the economy of Fife we hope that by shopping locally our customers receive the highest quality products, which we are confident that they do.
Below is a list of a few local small businesses that we have used and continue to use at Kingdom Firewood. If you are interested in their services feel free to get in touch with them. We recommend them all!
Bulkbag Containers – Dundee (not quite Fife but just over the water)
One of the first things that we had to do when starting up Kingdom Firewood was to source a company to make our dumpy bags to hold our kiln dried logs in. It’s very easy to jump on google and find a cheap, online based company. There are lots based overseas, especially in China. However, we wanted to try to keep everything about Kingdom Firewood local and it was with this mindset that we found Bulkbag Containers. They are a small, family business based in Dundee and we think they do a great job with our bags!
Leanna Tanner Photography – Inverkeithing
When we decided to create our new website we knew that we had to find a great photographer to produce high quality images of our kiln dried logs, kindling, firelighters, etc. We spoke to friends and work colleagues and we were recommended Leanna Tanner Photography. After meeting Leanna and having a look at her portfolio we were more than happy to hire her for the job and we think the photo’s look fantastic! Diego our dog was the only person who seemed a bit camera shy on the day of the photoshoot but Leanna still managed to get a few great shots of him!
Name Droppers Embroidery – Cowdenbeath
At Kingdom Firewood we like to look professional when delivering our kiln dried hardwood logs. We believe that brand recognition, even in a small family business, is very important and that is why we decided to get branded clothing for Callum to wear when delivering across Fife. When we were preparing for the photoshoot for the new website we decided that the whole family should get branded clothing to show that we are all part of Kingdom Firewood. We asked around family and friends and were recommended to use Name Droppers in Cowdenbeath. Name Droppers is another small, family business and we think they did a great job! The garments are high in quality and were ready quickly.
Muddy Boots – Balmalcolm
We regularly run giveaway promotions on our Facebook page and always make sure that our prizes are from local businesses here in Fife. Muddy Boots is a stones throw away from our firewood shed so you don’t get much more local than that! We have spent many days at Muddy Boots over the years in the rain and shine and our kids have always had a great time! (we have too!) That is why we thought that a family pass giveaway on our Facebook page was such a good idea. Muddy Boots are a reseller for Kingdom Firewood and you can order our kiln dried logs directly from them in their shop. You can also buy the most amazing meringues ever in the shop!
Our wood, briquettes and firelighters.
All our premium kiln dried hardwood logs are sourced from local suppliers based less than 50 miles from our firewood shed in Kingskettle. The suppliers that we get our wood from are also small, family businesses. All our firewood arrives at our shed having already been kiln dried, cut and split at our suppliers yards. We also source all our Hot Blox, Hotties and firelighters from a small family business based just outside Perth.
It’s great supporting local businesses and maybe if more of us try to do it rather than always going to Amazon or the big supermarkets then Fife’s economy might just grow and grow.
